The details coming out about that LNER train is why you'll never catch me complaining that train drivers, train guards, signal operatives and many other staff on our railways simply want a fair wage, one that allows them to live comfortably, for the work they do.

I realise this is niche, but I discovered today that if you are sending a large letter, it's almost a pound cheaper to send it tracked, even if it isn't important, rather than just normal first class, AND it's guaranteed within 48 hours rather than just the vague "1-2" days for first class
