In Leeds, local connection matters. Up to 25% of social housing is set aside for those who’ve lived, worked, or have family in the area and 90% goes to local people based on need. That’s how it should be—locals first. 🦉 Source: Leeds City Council Lettings Policy

Today LCC sets it's '25-26 budget, for the first time in 15 years under a Labour Government, taking steps to repair the damage done by £2.7BN of Tory austerity.
We will continue to deliver for a greener, safer, fairer city.

Leeds Labour has taken action to help our poorest pensioners
Right to Buy strips local authorities of their capacity to help those most in need of decent, secure social rented homes. Leeds Labour is working with the Govt on their social housing reforms - calling for an end to sales, a new toolkit to build homes and meet the housing emergency.

The government announced this week that it has tripled emergency funding for councils to tackle rough sleeping and emergency homelessness - and Leeds will receive £626,206.
This is very welcome, to strengthen our service and the strong partnerships that we have in Leeds delivering this support.
