Reading Mary Oliver and reaching the last line of a poem- the first poem bloomed a smile wide across my face. And the next one, rippled tears falling to my chest, just above my heart~

@jbpritzker.bsky.social On an NPR interview, you call out the President for saying one thing and then saying the opposite- leading to a statement that he might be bipolar. Mental illness should not be used as a negative signifier for your feelings about people. #wordsmatter #mentalillness

Read Nate Powell’s “Fluke” on the patio as the sun unwinds and the night birds sing. Three pages is all it takes for a gut punch from the forgotten- like hearing “Bend Down the Branches” for the first time. #booksky

I love the simple think pair share before jumping in to a new concept. It works. I love to do random groupings. No prep (other than a thoughtful & intentional prompt) and students are talking. I know tons of other strategies, but many aren’t necessary. #eduskychat
Q2: What’s your favorite non-tech based instructional strategy or activity?

Special Needs? IDEA oversight cannot be handed over to the department of Health & Human Services. ‘Bureaucracy’ is not eradicated by shifting roles & responsibilities to departments & people who do not have generative thinking for creating sites of educational freedom.

Trump says Education Department will no longer oversee student loans, 'special needs'
The president said federal student loans would move to the Small Business Administration, and hinted that the Department of Health and Human Services would take over special education oversight.

As a Transion Coordinator, I partner with businesses to give students work experiences through #WCW #DOR Students receive a pay check at school. Currently they use a paper timesheet, which can be problematic. Does anyone know of a more reliable method to track student work hours? #EduSky

Engagement can be challenging. Including thoughtful partner talk with guiding questions can help. Additionally, journaling on the big ideas can also encourage more thought. #sunchat
I'm not sure what everybody else is seeing in their classrooms or what their students... But how do we get students to be more engaged in their learning? Putting aside pbl and other Hands-On applications... What can we do? #sunchat

Using a rubric is helpful up to a point. Students understand the standards and expectations for the assignment. However, learning occurs when students participate in peer feedback and a guided reflection on their learning. #sunchat
Should we be moving towards a rubric-based grading system? Should we be looking at alternative grading types? What is your school district currently doing as a means to assess students. #sunchat

A1-The school's role for Career Readiness is to open a pathway for each student to be able to meaningfully engage in education and work after high school. Schools should have strong dual enrollment programs that cater to the college bound and the vocational bound students. #eduskychat
