An antique (late 19th/early 20th Century), scalloped shape beadwork and cord Applique, in a Gorget-style shape, beaded and corded in Victorian Mourning style, with 3 black teardrop beads added along the scallops of the fabric has been accented with a beautiful neoclassical-style resin Cameo of a detailed Black Cat on white resin sculpted on a 34x40mm oval in textured detail, crafted in a large, bold size, has been set into a modern pewter metal alloy frame in antiqued finish and gently attached with a jump ring to the cord of the applique. Gunmetal chain draws back to an adjustable setting and Lobster clasp closure, lobster clasp can fit into any of the chain widths for maximum adjustable options, the back clasp has an additional black faceted vintage bead flourish. Our refrigerator is very old and it had a crisper drawer labeled "MEATS" that I, as pictured, plastered over with the more appropriate "CHEESES FOR US MEECES" Muppet quote instead. 'Tis the season. 💖

(Cont.) Something that makes @datlow.bsky.social a great short story editor is her razor-sharp eye on structure (hardly my strong suit). When I submitted the 1st draft of "Charged", she noted that the story's 1st line should be the bold statement I'd originally hidden halfway down the 1st page:

The bronze "Spirit of Life" statue in Congress Park, Saratoga Springs, honoring the life, service and philanthropy of Spencer Trask. A beautiful, winged woman in diaphanous robes holds a cup of healing water in one hand and a branch of peace in the other hand, she is stepping onto a rock from which water flows. The model for this statue was Audrey Munson, the "it girl" of 19th century modeling whose career was ruined by an insane man who killed his wife to "be in a relationship with her" who she had no connection to. Munson later suffered several psychological and neurological issues and lived a long but difficult life.

Leanna is "at the window" in blue-tone black and white, in an authentic 19th century white nightgown open down the front, creating an imitation of the screenshot from Robert Eggers' Nosferatu where the character of Anna Harding goes to the window to breathe and scream. There are blood marks on Leanna's forehead to mirror those from the film.
