likely making a quick trip out to see it again. normally not much of a modern opera fan (Moby Dick was pretty good, admittedly; Doctor Atomic disappointed me so deeply i walked out)

the entire production is arresting in its simple beauty and dynamism; the choreography, complex and enchanting

(n.b., i was introduced to philip glass c2005, taking an impromptu road trip to buffalo NY to hear the dalai lama speak)
