Temporarily moved in with my father due to ongoing family issues that keep getting issue-ier. He's in the other room shouting "Netflix" over and over...either the remote isn't working or he's lost his fucking mind and at this point I honestly can't say that one is more likely than the other. 😂🤣😭

I work remotely on a very chatty team so I'm starting to hallucinate the Teams chime. I hear it at night. I'm going to hear it 10 years after I'm dead.

I've got a mother who is in rehab after a long hospital stint, an aunt, who is dependent on my parents, in the hospital and likely to end up in rehab with my mother, a father with high blood pressure who doesn't handle stress well, and no siblings.

Middle age is SO MUCH FUN.

Suddenly tonight I was driving through the Pine Barrens after dark in the fog listening to an Ethel Cain album and having a queer horror moment. Unnamed dirt roads. Strange handmade billboards. Dark as hell.

Kept thinking, I'm going to fucking die out here, but goddamn, what a setting.

Remains of an old cranberry bog in south Jersey. Cold and windy. I was completely alone. Felt haunted. Good setting for a story.
