The U.S. EPA has been publishing excellent work the last few years on quantifying methane emissions from food scraps in landfills, encouraging diversion to compost to reduce emissions, & now on the benefits of using compost. Goes to show that crazy tech isn't needed for meaningful GHG reduction.

From January, but a good interview with one of my colleagues on why we need to disclose what’s in food packaging materials like plastic and pressed fiber food serviceware, preventing regrettable substitutions when chemicals are banned, & new certifications that aim to increase material safety.

Starting the day with some encouraging data showing how compostable packaging can increase food waste diversion w/ clear communication & labeling.
