The U.S. EPA has been publishing excellent work the last few years on quantifying methane emissions from food scraps in landfills, encouraging diversion to compost to reduce emissions, & now on the benefits of using compost. Goes to show that crazy tech isn't needed for meaningful GHG reduction.

Starting the day with some encouraging data showing how compostable packaging can increase food waste diversion w/ clear communication & labeling.

"By the end of the trial, food waste volumes increased 23% and contamination levels dropped from an average of 9% to 3%."
