No thank you

I've done this loads this year and absolutely yes to remembering to being kind to ourselves when it happens.
Sometimes life is like that and it's kinder to take up the projects at another time.

That's a good point, I might have to test different pencils on different papers to find what works best on what.
I tend to go for semi-gloss and matte papers with mid-level noticeable texture.

It is shameful that the system works like this. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this on top of everything else that's happened the last year.

I hope you feel better soon!

I love this week's postcards, thank you for sharing them!

Festive as fuck! I also know how to get us through next week 😈

That both sounds and looks cosy!

I'm sorry Clare, I know exactly what those queues feel like. You must be knackered now.

When I worked in a bookshop we were told to greet every single customer as soon as they entered, regardless of whether they gave off a vibe that they would like that.
People outright gave us disgusted looks, people like bookshops for their quiet and introverted peace!

When I was off sick I missed work and the first few weeks back I really liked it. Then reality and Christmas set in and nope, customer support in retail is just grim.

Thank you! The printer can print sharp and the bamboo paper adds this lovely softening.

It is. I did decide to hold back for this one since it's on my portfolio website but it's also very much connected to my work right now so it feels weird not to mention it at all:

We have a Canon Pixma Pro-200 and use Lightroom Classic to edit and print. Dan just installed a printer plug-in for Lightroom specifically for that printer that's worked very well.
The printer is expensive but I don't regret spending the money, the quality is incredible and better than I ever hoped.

It's so satisfying because I always know how I want my photos to feel like and I can almost completely determine the outcome through the paper and settings I pick. I used to use photo labs for prints and you have to rely on their paperstock and preferences.

I think it's helpful and healthy to have safe (and often private) spaces where you can freely talk about it and vent if needed. It does also help me reading about other people's experiences and realising most of us aren't alone, there are others who understand.

Thank you! I'm super pleased about these ones. It's taken me nearly a year but I got there 😂

I won't lie, I'm obsessed about paper weight and texture these days 😆 an absolute nerd about it. It's so satisfying to hold a print in your hand of a photo you've taken, to me it doesn't make it less that it's a digital inkjet.

We considered a darkroom at one point but we just don't have the space and I really wanted a printer for fancy bookbinding projects. Just like darkroom prints it requires skill, experimentation and experience, which I hadn't expected and has been a little frustrating but mostly made it interesting.

I will happily read it if you do decide to write and share.

Same!! I just wrote a blog post about burnout and wondered how explicit I should be.
