Fun fact, Sergei Prokofiev died the same day. He had no music or flowers at his funeral because all flowers were sent to Stalin’s funeral and all music performances forbidden. Prokofiev had hated Stalin so it was a real bummer.

I lived in a town in the lead belt of MO. Lots of weird shit happened there. The EPA had also poured millions into a town that hated them to remove the lead that was killing them. It’s all too on the nose.

Will also say higher level music does this too. That kid gets the solo because they worked harder and/or have more talent. You’re literally seated according to skill level and you still have to work together.

My dad used to make me verbally spar with him and it wasn’t bully per se, but it was cornering someone and making them psychologically implode
