Your ethics are defined by the way you treat your employees when there are hundreds of applicants vying for every open role.

I have used LauchDarkly at IBM for many years with high success. I (personally, not on behalf of IBM) would highly recommend them. Stability, usability, scale - all fantastic

#3 option is to tell leadership the original concept is their idea enough they eventually believe you and start implementing it as their idea. Not helpful as a career growth mechanism, but if you really need to get something done and have the required several months of runway...

Where to start....

My experience is software engineering is not about the code! A few more practical breadcrumbs
1. Learn about tests - this will lead into CI/CD
2. Study system design
3. Be able to debug, bonus points if you can do it without fmt.print
