Our lovely new Turkish neighbours brought homemade yaprak sarma - stuffed vine leaves - to our door. For me the jury is still out on whether Levantine, Iranian or Turkish vine leaves are the best, but my preference is always for more leaf less filling

The Turkish lira has crossed the 36 lira to the USD mark for (I think?) the first time. That might sound like good news for foreign currency earners but price rises are through the roof, eroding gains from the FX rate. I don’t know how people on Turkish lira salaries are surviving.
