Researchers scraped 3.5 billion WhatsApp accounts using a novel enumeration technique, bypassing rate limits - got even profile pics, names etc for a subset of them. It's disingenuous for Meta to call this "collaboration" when it's big bounty!

If there is one thing I realized, the CEO's either lie, or don't have even a foggy idea of the ground realities in the company. I don't know which is worse. When they claim they are cutting down bureaucracy, they really don't know how it actually gets executed.

DoorDash had a data breach that exposed people's names, email addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses.
But they didn't disclose how many people are affected, and say no "sensitive" information is leaked. They don't seem to be taking it seriously enough.

The reason a lot of people upgrade their phones is bragging rights. ("I have the latest phone"). But if the phone looks the same as the previous version, how do they brag? So Apple made it easy to show off that you have the latest phone - by releasing an orange color.

When I was in grad school (and even later), Bill Gates was pretty much the villain for us Linux and Open Source believers. He had his flaws (Epstein and all), but for the past few years, he had been doing a lot of good! 1/

The hypocrisy of Western media is obvious again. Read this phrase for instance:
a massacre in which 26 people were killed on the Indian side of Kashmir in April that his country’s prime minister, Narendra Modi, _described as_ a “terror attack.” 1/
