We worked (at speed!💥) with No5 Chambers on this case, challenging 2 local authorities in disagreement over responsibility to prevent street homelessness for our client – a single mother of two.
Within 3 hours of lodging the judicial review the High Court issued an injunction prohibiting eviction.

Many of our clients facing eviction don’t know where to turn for legal advice – or how to afford it.
They don’t understand the possession process and may also have mental health needs, so without our help would face difficulties addressing the court about their situation.

After a two-day fact-finding hearing and cross-examination of the young person and the local authority social workers, the Tribunal accepted his claimed age.
The local authority was ordered to pay his legal costs and he will now be entitled to care leaver services as a former looked after child.
