In fact, starting with secondary sources is often more efficient and effective than other approaches to research. * While secondary sources can be cited in practical legal writing (as opposed to a seminar paper), doing so is the exception, not the rule. Citing only the primary law is sufficient and usually preferred. * Generative AI provides unstable results that have not been subjected to editorial review. Thus, they cannot yet reliably replace traditional secondary sources. Consider using AI to complement traditional sources or as a tool to identify relevant resources. For example, Lexis AI+ provides recommended secondary sources.
