It's weird, but Frey has inherited the NIMBYs because city politics has reoriented around fear of crime instead of fear of housing density.
For all the credit Frey likes to take for 2040, he didn't do shit to get it passed, fucked up the legal defense, and his campaign coffers rely on a coalition of people who hate it. So I'm gonna stay skeptical.

WTF, WSJ?
Compared to Dylan and Springsteen, country-music legend Johnny Cash can seem deeply uncool. It took time for me to appreciate his profound, plainspoken strength, writes Jon Fasman.

Look, obviously I think that Becka Thompson is wrong for Ward 12, wrong for the city council, wrong for public service. But you don't have to take my word for it! You can just see what she says for herself. (And hoo, boy. It's a doozy). (sorry for the post from the bad place)

Griffin was convicted earlier in 1946. By September, his wife was indeed trying to get him out of prison...as she believed he was forced into the barroom murder in which he found himself.

I've been digging into the larger context of the photos from Mpls Photo Bot a lot lately, so from time to time might post what I find here (was doing this too often on my work account, decided to start posting here instead).

Although it drove my ex fucking crazy, I used to always play most of Exile on the jukebox when we suffer-lived in Buffalo, NY pre 9/11.

I couldn’t find the CD or cassette(!) anywhere at the time; a wannabe coke bar in Buffalo was my only play. #timsrendevous

Late to the game, but without getting too Chris Steller-ific about it, goddamn…this Let it Bleed edition is fucking killing me.

No better band to capture the maddening madness of rock than The Replacements.

On the West River Parkway today, saw Rocco Baldelli sitting on a park bench. Walking past, I said thank you, and gave him a thumbs up. He did the same.
