This is simply unsustainable. I'm willing to let France off the hook, as they at least provide a nuclear deterrent. But Italy and Spain need to step up & chip in on common military security for all Europeans.

Remember: the televised punishment & humiliation meted out to Zelensky just now could be done to any NATO ally facing similar aggression. The sense of sneering hostility & contempt by Trump & Vance isn’t specific to Ukraine.

This — but Europe can only empower Ukraine to reject a bad deal by creating a better one.
Every non-Ukrainian in the West should look at that photo and imagine that it was your own country that was being negotiated over by the Trump and Putin administrations after almost three years of mass national sacrifice to defend your homeland.
