Really annoyed at him as well, but not his fault. We need to, as a team, handle setbacks better. So many players with unacceptable performances. Perhaps fatigue, but if so, so important to rest and rotate.

I mean, realism sure. Other clubs might bid the same and he might choose to go elsewhere. Agents might be leaking our bid to drum up interest. I am however encouraged by the fact that we have placed a bid and are going after players of this pedigree.

That could be it, encouraged however by the pedigree of players we are bidding on (quite aggressively mind). Can’t waste too much of the window hunting this (as with Guehi), but sensible trying the waters before putting in final bid. Might already have bid the release clause (but in installments)?

As they arguably are each other’s closest comparison in playing style. Another club might not want to pay 150 for Isak, because they can get Ekitike for 80. If we control both however… just a thought! 😅

firms in markets can raise prices because there are no competitors pressing the prices down. If we owned both Isak and Ekitike, would that mean that both of them would be worth more?

Great thread, thank you Kev! I know very little about stats, but is there any data that informs on the quality of a player’s decision making for passes? If so, do you know how Elanga compares to Murphy? On a separate note, surely his song must be based on the Proclaimers’ song “I’m gonna be”?!
