Sounds like there’s a solution to our problems here people…
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:
Millionaire Tax That Inspired Mamdani Fuels $5.7 Billion Haul in Massachusetts
A millionaire levy in Massachusetts that New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani holds up as a model for taxing the rich has generated $3 billion more in revenue than expected without forcing...

📍Senator Fetterman had a VFIB—the leading cause of cardiac arrest—he almost died if not for his implanted defibrillator, which can cost $34,000 to over $51,000. Days ago, he also just voted with GOP to gut health insurance tax credits for millions. Hope he has a change of heart.

Notice how nobody in the Trump regime ever asks, “But how will we pay for it?” when it comes to priorities that benefit them?

Bravo!👏👏👏
The economics of health care -- not to mention the politics, or the human reality -- are important, and complicated. We deserve a more careful and thoughtful policy response than "here's a check," or "we'll have a plan in two weeks."

It all would have been much easier if, as would have happened if we were remotely a serious country, it all ended with the Access Hollywood interview.

Yet another win for @marcelias.bsky.social & his team. We will never be able to pay what we owe to them. 🏆
ICYMI: In a win for Wisconsin voters, a state judge vacated his ruling that would have forced election officials to conduct mass citizenship checks for voter registration ahead of the 2026 midterms. The registration process will remain the same for voters.

Do Senate Democrats really believe that Americans will hurt any less when the government is reopened and Trump and his sycophants can hack away at whatever programs they dislike?

Who uses SNAP?

My friend, who works, raising 5 kids, husband bailed and won’t pay child support

My neighbor battling cancer and her life-saving meds are so expensive, she chooses between meds or food

My friend who’s a vet and struggles with mental health issues.

Not one of them chose this.

“Why would a prominent venture capitalist [Peter Thiel ally Marc Andreessen] bristle at a pope calling for basic ethics? Because Pope Leo XIV may be the one authority on earth that Big Tech cannot control.” 1/
A tech billionaire mocked Pope Leo XIV’s call for ethical AI.

The post was deleted — but not before exposing Silicon Valley’s deeper discomfort: a pope they can’t buy or bully.

It also revealed something older: the Valley’s original sin — the desire to be God.
Tech Billionaire Mocks Pope Leo’s AI Warning — and Reveals Silicon Valley’s Original Sin
A billionaire tech guru openly mocked Leo's call for moral AI — and quickly backtracked after backlash. It’s a telling collision of Silicon Valley hubris with a pope they cannot buy, bully, or ignore.

This was a good read.

Btw, did you know that after Joyce Carol Oates posted this Elon responded that she's a liar and then he immediately began going under film posts and replying "Great movie".

I'm not even joking. 😂
Found the tweet that Joyce Carol Oates bodied Elon Musk with and it's so beautiful in its eloquent, simple take down. So much so he's crashing out trying to prove he reads books now. Put this in the Louvre.
