Going into 2025, I am going to continue my pursuit of looking for more angles, making new formats of visual journalism like video, and continuing to inform accurately for those who follow the Argus Leader.

It can be tough to not cover everything that goes on in Sioux Falls and the larger state of South Dakota, but that leaves me more determined to always make sure that I am leaving with impactful imagery for those who follow my work.

I can sit here and say with confidence that I made a great decision to live and work in South Dakota. I have grown more as a visual journalist, here, than when I was a freelance photographer in San Francisco.

I'll be honest. When I first accepted the position and drove to South Dakota, I was nervous. I had left my home state to take on a new adventure, not knowing if it would work out. All in the hopes to pursue my dream career, photojournalism.
