Thank you @spooniessquad.bsky.social for the wonderful #Resistance stickers. I've stuck a couple on my rollator sign holder. I handed out some of your stickers at the Hands Off! rally in Washington, DC. Everyone loved them!

There was a great turnout for the #HandsOff rally in DC yesterday. The crowd was packed around the Washington Monument, as well as the grounds across the street and around the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
A crowd gathered at the base of the Washington Monument across from the Sylvan Theater's stage for the Hands Off rally. They are holding various signs including "Resistance is Not Futile. No 3rd Term!", "The VETERANS Fought for me. So now, I Fight for Them!", "VAGINAS UNITE", "TARIFFS are TAXES", "NO KINGS", and "Make America Kind Again". There are also various Hand Off! signs and t-shirts. A packed crowd gathered for the Hands Off! protest in Washington, DC. Demonstrators are holding colorful signs. Prominently featured is a bright yellow sign reading "They're eating the CHECKS! They're eating the BALANCES!" A blue sign reads "BAD DOGE! SOMEONE CALL KRISTI NOEM." A white sign with writing in blue, red, and black says, "Democracy is falling apart like a cybertruck" with a drawing of a cybertruck at the bottom. A few of the signs read "Kamala warned y'all!", "Hands OFF Free Speech", "Make America America Again", "Impeach Trump", and "Hands off Schools".

The 6-3 conservative majority reinvigorated the major questions doctrine to strike down a number of Biden administration policies. Now the legal principle could stop Trump’s tariff policy against China, Canada, and Mexico depending on how things play out. The doctrine directs courts to reject an agency’s interpretation of a statute when it presents an issue of great political or economic significance, unless Congress has clearly authorized it. In targeting tariffs on imports across-the-board, Trump invoked the International Emergency Economic Powers Act but it’s not clear that the law grants him that authority. The major questions doctrine is the best argument challengers would have against the tariffs, said Thomas Berry, a director of the Cato Institute’s Center for Constitutional Studies.
