Except, of course, it’s *not* all he can say.

Cassidy could concede publicly that confirming Kennedy was a tragic mistake. He could call for RFK Jr's resignation. He could schedule hearings, haul the secretary to Capitol Hill, and demand the CDC’s public resources reflect the scientific cannon.
TAPPER: You were the deciding vote that allowed RFK Jr to ascend to the role of Health Secretary. Did you give him too much credit?

CASSIDY: The fact is the scientific community agrees that vaccines are safe. That's all I can say.

RFK Jr.‘s extreme anti-vax views — and his related conflicts of interest — were a huge problem during his confirmation process.

So he promised not to change the vaccine advisory panel.

Today, he fired every single expert on that panel. It's a public health disaster.
RFK Jr. ousts entire CDC vaccine advisory committee
Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has removed every member of a scientific committee that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on how to use vaccines.

AAP: Removal of COVID vaccines from immunization schedules for healthy children, pregnant people disregards process, increases risk
AAP experts say the move may leave families without the ability to decide whether to get a vaccine for their children. It is unclear how the change will impact insurance coverage.

It's true. It will be hard to keep pediatric hospitals open, too.
Overnight Congress approved the big beautiful bill cutting Medicaid, which insures nearly 1/2 of all kids.

You may think this won’t affect you but it will.

More uninsured means crowded ERs, closing practices, higher costs & longer waits.

Call your senators to tell them how ugly this bill is.

I live in the Research Triangle of NC. Many of my friends and neighbors are affected by the chaotic attempts to slash government-funded research. These scientists have trained for many years and are the best of the best. They deserve better.

Trump and Republicans are gearing up to eliminate Head Start programs, which provide vital childcare to nearly 1 million kids.

SNAP, which helps feed nearly 14 million children, is also on the chopping block.

And they wonder why more people aren’t having children.

Hello?

The consequences are profound—how many brilliant minds are being shut out of research entirely? How much future discovery is being lost before it even begins?
