It must be the end of summer, because the kids have been breaking in their new school shoes as they walk to the library to finish the @readingagency.bsky.social Summer Reading Challenge

One month left of the view from my office. Flags flying at Clare College and Great St Mary’s (in the distance) to celebrate graduation, and Kings Chapel peeking over the trees

And (for other residents of the cargo bike hotspot that is Cambridge) there’s even a very early penny farthing-style cargo bike!

What a glorious day to celebrate International Women’s Day and 40 years of women at Pembroke with an outrageously impressive group of speakers

This isn’t a very seasonal recommendation but for #Worldbookday my son went as Nikolas from Matt Haig’s ‘A Boy Called Christmas’, looking just like this gorgeous Chris Mould illustration, and only one person guessed it! Not enough people have read this lovely book www.theguardian.com/books/2015/n...

The interpretation was also very funny and accessible. Fantastic quotes. +10 points for the Ghostbusters reference.

There are lots of great things about @theul.bsky.social but I often think the single best one is the way the lights shine through the windows when it’s getting dark!

It’s #libraryshelfieday! I share my office @theUL.bsky.social with part of the Stefan Heym collection* and you can find out more about the man and the collection here: www.lib.cam.ac.uk/collections/...

*Perhaps more accurate to say the Stefan Heym collection shares its office with me.

Last night I managed to squeeze in an evening in London to myself and I saw the glorious @nationaltheatre.org.uk adaptation of Ballet Shoes www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/productions/.... I loved the book so much as a child and they’ve done it proud

My seven year old is loving @matthaig.bsky.social’s A Boy Called Christmas. Last time I read it I loved it too. Now I’m not so sure.

The kids are building Lego again, and the mini figure living my best life is back. She’s just gonna get a coffee and read her giant book!
