Not too comfortable with Chris Patten weighing in on the BBC side. Like Ken Bates telling us what a great club Leeds United are.

When lufc said every away game will be like a cup final I didn't realise they meant the ones we've played in

Sprints tonight at the Parish Hudds. Atmospheric vibrant punk with an open heart. Fantastic.

Robert Forster, I mean, has he ever wrote a less than fabulous song? Strawberries, up there with AOTY surely.

Just halfway through Jimmy Anderson's autobiography. Definitely more than I was expecting from a sports bio. Some great insight, context and introspection. Love him even more now.

I'm taking comfort from last night's 2nd half lufc game in that it was tactical and deliberate and for almost the entirety of it very comfortable.

Stewart Lee, head and shoulders the best comedian in the world…still. Constantly creative, relevant, inventive and… well, just hilarious.

Jays and Goldfinches (eating dandelion clocks) in the garden this week so far. What a treat. Britain's most exotic birds if you ask me.

This latest Black Country New Road album , thrillingly mesmeric prog rock. Nothing wrong with that *gulps* *side eyes*

Thinking about the ace Hollie McNish last Saturday at the Playhouse. 650 there including about 50 men. Sad really, blokes could learn a lot from her and her brilliant poems. Should be on some sort of curriculum.

It's a good job Autumn's so great otherwise the end of Summer would be a right downer

Big Thief, absolutely incapable of producing less than germane brilliance. Theirs, mine and ours if I may suggest. Double Infinity possibly their best yet.

Really resent that loss today against a bang ordinary shithouse team. Yeah they moved it quicker through some well worked triangles at times but chuff me we should have taken something.

Feel a tiny bit despondent seeing all these ace shiny conkers scattered about the pavements whilst kids shuffle over them peering at a phone.

Any budding dendrologists or even actual ones out there can identify the nearby tree of ours?. It's the size and shape of the adjacent regular oak but the leaves are much more slender. See piccy of both. #trees

Every celestial "event" I've ever tried to witness since Haley's comet way back then has been thwarted by cloud, tiredness, apathy or mayhem. I can't see tonight being any different.

Ryan Davis & The Roadhouse Band last night at The Parish, Huddersfield. Fabulous festival warm up set , a real treat on my doorstep. Intricate tempo changing lyrically intriguing songs , enthralling and thrilling. Big things surely await such a talent.

Some trees changing into their Autumn colours, it's still August. Not happy about that.
