Beware! This account followed me, and when I did a little digging, it appears to be a thinly veiled white supremacist-type group. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the little I saw seems to support this. I screenshot their page, then blocked them.

An eared grebe with those shockingly red eyes.

Typical ranch winter shot in western north Texas. I really liked the lines and shadows in this.

In a bit of good news, our local shelter in partnership with the fantastic vet crew from P.E.T.S., spayed one dog and spayed or neutered 21 cats yesterday!

Saw this on reddit, only in black with white lettering. I inverted and am thinking of printing some up.

Sagan, like me, loves spiders. Only problem is he loves to play with them and sometimes eat them! My 3 other cats? Same. I just have to be on guard and find them first so I can safely relocate them.

Here's my puzzle helper Sagan!

A Nothern mockingbird taking a break from gobbling berries on our small Yaupon holly tree yesterday. We have them year-round here, their song is one of my favorite sounds of summer.

Blue Jay in our pecan tree on a snowy day a few weeks ago.

I prefer the word criminals to thugs, but damn. Part of me thought he would never actually do it. I was so wrong. There are NO depths he will not sink to.

Am I thoroughly disgusted with what happened yesterday and what is happening now in our once great nation? Yes. Very much so. We're being led by a hateful, revenge-driven madman and his crew of greedy sycophants. We must all do what we can to stay safe and help those in danger however we can.

Our oldest cat Sagan, "helping" me decorate the Christmas tree. He's a former feral rescue, and the sweetest boy ever. I adopted him at around 9 months, he's 8 years old now. He's named after the brilliant Carl Sagan. I edited this shot to make it more painterly, but he's really that gorgeous!

My all-time favorite horned lizard shot! I've taken hundreds over the years, but this was one I took with a little Kodak digital point and shoot before I got my first DSLR, close to 20 years ago.

It's Caturday Saturday, Ambrose's favorite day! Share those kitties!!

Twenty four cats spayed or neutered today thanks to the fantastic team from P.E.T.S. at our town's humane society! I assist with recovery, where we monitor heart rates and other vitals and keep them warm and comfortable while the anesthesia wears off. There are so many benefits of spay/neuter! 1/2

Good morning! We were extremely lucky to work for and live on a very large ranch in western north Texas for 28 years, with 18 of them in an employee house that rattlesnakes denned under every winter. I learned to love and respect them but had to pretty much be constantly on guard when outside. 1/2

Monarch from back in mid-October on Cowpen daisy. We're in zone 7B, rolling plains of Texas, and they're still blooming. They look pretty ragged now though, and the first frost will take them out. But since they are the most prolific seeder I've ever seen; we are sure to have more next year!

I have 4, two boys and two girls. This is Ambrose, who is baffled and dismayed at the outcome of the election. As am I.

All of this!

A rather ragged Gulf fritillary on our Cow Pen daisies this morning. If you love butterflies, it's a fantastic super long blooming nectar plant and host for Bordered patch butterflies. Be warned, it gets enormous and unruly in a manicured setting, but you can't beat it for a wilder area. 1/2

Our Ambrose, wondering how on earth people could have elected a lying, corrupt, ignorant, felonious, bullying ra*ist crook AGAIN. He thinks the rightful and only place the orange idiot deserves is in the bottom of his litter box!

Collared lizard at Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. Great place for wildflowers and Collared lizards, and beautiful rugged granite mountains!
