I don't have a problem with Jesse Barrett representing Fox News. If the case goes to the Supreme Court and Amy Coney Barrett doesn't recuse I will have a huge problem with it. But that has not happened.

The other day, someone had compared a teaching post by Alito with a teaching honorarium taken by Abe Fortas. I didn't think it was an appropriate comparison given the value in the 1960s versus today. But the amounts taken by Thomas are ridiculous and far far outweigh anything taken by Fortas.

Moving to France has given me a new perspective on the structural problems with the US. The main problem is that it's the Holy Roman Empire. In France no one would consider having abortion (or anything) legal in one Department or Region, but not another. Because France is a country, the US is not.

Joe Biden has not done enough to combat climate change. Joe Biden has done more to combat climate change than every other president in my lifetime. Both of these are true. Do I want someone else? No. Because anyone else would do less.

One of the things that has been lost in the partisan wrangling over the Hunter Biden case is this: He is accused of lying on a form. The prosecution is seeking a 25 year sentence. In a democracy there should not be a law on the books where you can go to jail for 25 years for lying on a form.
