I think the fact that community and culture neither pays, nor gets you claps, nor keeps a roof over your head is probably a lot to do with it BUT STILL it is a choice to pay racists and transphobes for their time, to reward them for hatefulness, and that choice is being made by those with the money.

Just imagine if, as a nation, we channelled even a third of the energy wasted in capslocking hatefully and whining about things that literally don't exist and performing outrage at people who want to live in a peaceful and humane society into actual constructive community and culture. Imagine.
