This one is perhaps a little niche.

Something for the Maryland history heads.

Self-awareness is important.

What an utter delight it was hearing Abeo Quartet in today’s Shriver Hall Concert Series performance at UMBC.

Their rendition of Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quartet № 1 in E-flat major, Op. 12 was sensational.

Walked by the ballpark this evening.

Saw the JumboTron skeleton in person.

I wore this Baltimore Polytechnic Institute hooded sweatshirt today in honor of my grandfather, who probably would’ve been thrilled by the outcome of yesterday’s big rivalry football game.

Regardless of whether you call it City–Poly or Poly–City—I think we can all agree that it’s a great tradition!

Thanks! Did a search for “Funky Jungle” in my favorite newspaper database, limiting the results to Maryland papers that were published in 1998. There were only four matches—all of which referenced the same event. [Attached are two screenshots showing another one of the results.]

Amazing shirt.

Here’s one of my old ticket stubs. I guess I should’ve posted this a few days ago! Seeing how it was the 30th anniversary…

Let me tell you how much I love this International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 24 sticker!

Whoever designed this really knocked it out of the park.

Joan Jett also sang the national anthem at Camden Yards the night of Cal Ripken Jr.’s 2130 game—September 5th, 1995.

Y’know, it actually looks like he would’ve been sufficiently old enough to’ve been Sideshow Bob’s father. A plausible age difference!

My #OnThisDay feed informs me that on this day in 2017, I saw Cigarettes After Sex live at the U Street Music Hall (ʀ.ɪ.ᴘ.⚰️) in Washington, D.C. Easily one of the best, most intimate performances I’ve ever seen. Truly an all-time favorite concert memory.

Google’s throwing it back to 1998 today.

I’ve always been partial to this logo.

Who doesn’t love a good exclamation point?

I was trying to make it home for kickoff and was running ever so slightly behind—but my minor inconvenience was nullified when I inadvertently found myself passing RIGHT by the stadium while player introductions were happening. Words cannot sufficiently convey how cool it was to see that. Go Ravens.

I didn’t wear a Ravens jersey to work today, but I did wear this vintage lapel pin from back when the team was still playing in Memorial Stadium.

Today’s view.

Go Birds!

I’m not at today’s game, but I managed to catch the flyover anyway.

Go Ravens.

Also, shout-out to Aquila Randall of the Mechanical Volunteers.

Well I can tell ya one thing…

He didn’t sup in Baltimore.

If you happen to have the Baltimore Ravens app on your phone, go check it out.

In celebration of the team’s 30th anniversary, they’ve reworked most of the app’s main pages in retro 1996-style graphics.

This is some peak-level Netscape Navigator stuff right here. I love it.

This is just unbelievably heartbreaking.

Victorian Photography Studio has long been one of Gettysburg’s gems.

As soon as a donation link becomes available, I’ll post it here.

Sad about the passing of Davey Johnson.

You can’t tell the story (or history) of the Baltimore Orioles without him.

Here are two snapshots from his rookie year—Camera Day 1965 @ Memorial Stadium.

I really do think it might be the same car.

Either way, it’s a nice touch.
