I love the sentiment, and for trad published books, this is an excellent alternative to Zon. But the majority of my readers are KU readers. I am a KU reader… so, until there is a strong competitor for KU, I worry indie authors and their readers are stuck.

Kobo will get there, I think, but not yet 🙂

to sell my ebook, but the statement “I'm a self-published author, and I depend on Amazon's Kindle platform.” Is probably more about KU (exclusivity) than it does the actual kindle platform. Many readers who take chances on indie authors only do so because it doesn’t cost them anything extra.

I think the article failed to address where they get the ebooks from. It spoke about who earns the profit in a sale where the ebook is listed on Salon. It would be 1/3 Salon, 1/3 the book org, and 1/3 the bookshops. No mention of the author… also, and I do wish I didn’t have to rely on Amazon

It is indeed. I love to read fantasy and I do write a little bit in fantasy, but if you think about it, paranormal romance is often urban fantasy with romance… and that’s the other thing I write ☺️
