The average person may be ignorant or uncaring but anyone paying the barest attention KNOWS that queer people in particular rely on each other and on informal networks to tell each other our stories, support each other, advise each other. It's WHY many parents are so fucking militant about phones.

Parents who will never empathize with their queer children will call it a fad, a trend, a corrupting influence of Those Damn Phones on their naturally, innately cishet child, because they refuse to acknowledge that queerness is natural. That we could be something other than what they want us to be.
