Bringing back manufacturing, specifically of high value, strategically important goods, is in the national interest, but it’s a mistake to look at this as a jobs program. Modern factories are highly automated. The actual jobs we need are in home building and childcare/eldercare.

Reactionaries attack their political enemies & frame their own political preferences in self-serving, non-ideological terms such as: despising the political extremes or being anti-totalitarian. When "centrists" call Trump "woke" they're not using the term in a novel way.

Would not surprise me if this administration terminates police hiring grants, to cities, and offers to "supplement" departments with Federal law enforcement officers.
