I'm selling a mis-matched set of thru-axle wheels, perfect for gravel or cyclocross. If you're interested, shoot me a DM.

Some of my favorite diagrams are made by @davewalker.bsky.social (he draws cool and funny things, often about bikes)

We "found" a new bike path this weekend! Made for a fun little backyard adventure.

This street will be dropping from 25mph to 20mph this spring. I'm hoping to see early enforcement and the creation of a safer area for those traveling by foot and by bike.

It's a conscious decision to choose to go by bike. I choose to for the planet and my wallet, but mostly because I always feel better when I ride.

Agreed!

What's your favorite cargo to move via bike? I sometimes get to help move seedling trays across town for my wife's job and I love the attention it draws from passerby.

The multi-use trail is clear! Happy to see that it finally got plowed.

I'm practicing filming and editing now to hopefully document more group rides in the spring.

When you watch a ride along video what do you want to see?

If anyone would be interested in a Pizza Roll sticker let me know! I've got some extras around here somewhere that I'd be down to mail out or trade.

I could talk about this all day. Hit me up with questions or if you want to chat about starting or growing a social bike ride near you!

Low barrier to entry:
The pizza is free to the riders. Yup, we pay for 40 people to eat pizza. The local joint makes massive pies so it only takes 2 or 3 pizzas. We were lucky that Trek offered to pay for the first few rides and then a very generous friend paid for everyone on the last ride.

One place I didn't really focus on advertising was local bike shops. I gave them the info, but I wanted to reach non-cyclists as much as I could and focusing my energy elsewhere was what I prioritized. I figured people already visiting shops would be more likely to google the ride for themself.

Growing your ridership:
Tell. Every. One.
Put posters in every local business you can, tell your friends, tell your coworkers, tell the guy you met at the bike rack outside the grocery store.

When: Only in the summer.
This is specific to us since I live in a college town. With 70% of the population gone for the summer, it makes the roads safer and ensures the local pizza joint will have space for all 40 of us when we show up.

Time: Friday evenings (once a month)
The week is done and everything feels more relaxed.
January 16, 2025 at 2:17 PM
Length: 5 miles
It's short enough for kids and people that don't often ride, but still long enough to have time to chat with your friends.

Once I was connected with the club, I needed a selling pitch for the ride. Why should you attend? For us, it's the pizza that helps get the newbies to show up, and then they stay for the community.
