#NIH is hanging by a thread. The #CDC has been decimated. #RFK Jr. and Russell #Vought are psychopaths--I don't say this frivolously--they are cold, calculating, inflicting violence on millions through public policy. It is where we are right now. These men are not normal. 1/

Dr. Daskalakis in a resignation letter you can read below: “The intentional eroding of trust in low-risk vaccines favoring natural infection and unproven remedies will bring us to a pre-vaccine era where only the strong will survive…Eugenics plays prominently in the rhetoric being generated…”

Dr. Demetre, in his resignation from the CDC, said this:

“I have never experienced such radical non-transparency, nor have I seen such unskilled manipulation of data to achieve a political end rather than the good of the American people”.

It is an outrage that RFK Jr. remains as head of HHS.

NEW 🚨 The violence is the point. Elected Dems must call for widespread resignations (RFK, Bhattacharya, Prasad) in response to the CDC shooting. Parents insist their kids go to college to get business degrees. Administrators respond by defunding the humanities and social sciences, while hiring business profs at ~2X what historians get paid. Meanwhile, businesses say over and over that they want to hire humanities and social science majors.
Decades of mechanistic talk about university degrees as if they were bundles of 'skills' and 'prep' are about to be proved completely wrong (obviously). Want to get a real boost? Do History or English.

This could have big implications for state authority to regulate the practice of medicine and health insurance coverage decisions
That's the point!

The beautiful part with this bill is that given the way they define "automated decision system," you can bring your system in scope simply by adding some statistics or machine learning to it.

This is basically a bill to pre-empt all state-level regulation of tech.
This is so vague that it could ban the regulation of any kind of algorithm whatsoever; “automated decision system” is an extremely broad term!
