Is the long throw-in making a comeback?
It seems that the Bundesliga was early on the trend that's happening in Premier League now, but the Premier League has seen an explosive growth in long throw-ins.
La Liga, Ligue 1 and Serie A don't seem to take part in this particular trend.

I have created a GK Value-model that has values for Shot-stopping, Distribution, Leaving Line and Ball Handling. It's still a WIP, but I really want to see if we can use the current available data (which is so little for GK!!) to analyse GK match performance and beyond.

We tend to focus on absolutes and and hold people to that standard. Shaw's 24-25 season wasn't good bc she didn't replicate 23-24 season, or in this case: Beth Mead.

I wanted to find meaning in shot-based value models away from expected goal. Based on Ice Hockey analytics, I had a look at Fenwick and Corsi data. On that I created a few new metrics to value possession in combination with shots, rather than likelihood of a shot -> Goal (xG)

Van de Donk will still be immense in the WSL, and I think the impact she will have at a club outside of those trying to get into UWCL/trophies will be relatively big.
