Anti-Viral Chaos Barbie. An absolute angel. Voracious generalist. Volcano-worshipper. Uranian. I study humans and try to live like one, and actually stop to smell the flowers, every time.
Dropping something beautiful and magical for the top of my timeline until I can check in again. 🦉

There are a couple other smaller fires too, one in San Bernadino and one in the Riverside area. Various fire dept air assets all over the area. Wish the Feds would get the fk out of here and let us take care of business.

LA airspace has been busy AF today, and while I expected to see lots of cop copters, I was surprised to see Fire helicopters out again. Turns out there’s a non-protest related reason: Bethany Fire, just NE of Burbank.

And yet: “They continue to urge so-called nonviolence even as such directions can feel quite difficult to follow in a cloud of tear gas you did not set off.”

Desperately trying to improve my mood. I think the only choice I have now is to go back to the neighbor’s house where this bounty is blooming.

How I check my negativity bias and rebalance my nervous system, Spring/Summer edition: a facefull of summer jasmine. I just inhale it until well-being courses through my circulatory system. Plant medicine.

It looks like one of these.

Why is it on my porch, deceased? Does it have the bird flu? Do I have a feline stalker I’m unaware of? Is it an omen of some kind? Won’t someone please come fetch this for me? I don’t want it. 😭😭

Something terrible has occurred on my front porch and I am now trapped in the house until someone fixes this. 😭

“Elections Canada warned final results could be delayed [for Poiliviere’s seat] because of the size of the ballot takes five times as long to count as a regular ballot.“ - “a historic 91 candidates running… candidates did not campaign or even visit the riding and were part of a protest.”

A surprise double rainbow a little before sunset.

I don’t know if words can express how desperately I needed this rainbow.

Cracked my heart wide open.

Scribbled some notes on indications of the Mars/Pluto opposition. Sometimes astrology is fun; this one, not so much.

Phoebe Philo’s trouser game is truly unparalleled.

No one lives the life that these trousers imagine for us, but oh wouldn’t that be a fabulous kind of life?

This partially answers my question (from CNBC). The article says a round trip is typically 7 weeks, so China > US west coast shipping decrease should start to become stark by the end of the month I’d imagine…

“For the true believers, this volatility is proof of the leader's indispensable uniqueness. But for capitalism it is disastrous. It shatters the necessary illusion of a knowable future.”
April 15, 2025 at 10:02 PM
“Third, there is the problem of predictability. Investment is driven by a belief that it is possible to foretell the future. That this is an obvious illusion does not make it less essential to capitalism. Yet…the very essence of the dictator is a monopoly on unpredictability.“

“The second fault line is self-pity…But self-pity is bad for capitalism, a system that demands an endless supply of irrational exuberance: feel-good economics undercut by feel-bad politics.”
