The live from Martha's vineyard version of Carly Simon's "you're so vain/itsy bitsy spider". My then-toddler (now 24) was obsessed with it.

As a recovering Catholic who hasn't seen the inside of church (except weddings and funerals) for 25+years, I never expected to be eager for news about the Pope/Church.
Okay! This is going to take a while so I had to finish some stuff first, but: Why Da Pope Fucking Up Opus Dei Is A Huge Fucking Deal: a thread
Gimme an hour or two and then I'll explain why this is a "holy fucking shit" moment!

Huzzah, finally in possession of both death certificates and probate appointment. Now the real work can begin.
So my mom passed (not entirely unexpected - 80 with liver cancer) and I am the one in charge of Doing Things and I'm stuck waiting for bureaucracy, to be able to do the important things and this is very frustrating. This part is not on the lists of what to do.

Holy hell, the pneumonia vax has left my arm feeling like a punching bag. That's the only side effect, for which I'm very thankful. But damn.

caked in dust and blood, I claw my way to the crest of the barricade with the last of my strength. despite my broken body, I hear my voice croak out an old song of resistance. tears of hope leap to my eyes as my comrades take up the tune:

five
five dollar
five dollar footloooooong

Oh boy. Turns out getting rear-ended means I'm getting totaled. First vehicle I got solely because i loved it, without worrying about practicality or cost (much). Lasted three years.

And being upset about it seems very shallow, seeing it written down.

Blasted typos. Got Rear-ended on the way home from work, so that's awesome. I'm fine (so far) but my poor truck... I don't know if she will recover. Whee.

Ugh. Went cherry picking Friday & now skin on my face & neck is freaking out. Is it birch sensitivity? (I have mild/intermittent issues with raw fruit in that cross-reaction category.) Or does my skin suddenly not like the sunscreen I used in Dec? Either way, time to load up on h1/h2 combo. Bleh

Hosed off my outdoor unit to try to eke out a degree or two from my ancient hvac (filthy because not cleaned yet this season) & it wouldn't come back on. Scrambled for window units for bedrooms for the night. Tried turning it off/on again this morning success! Turns out it's bge's fault, anyway, as

Hi, so AI killed my career(s) and I'm barely (sometimes not) making rent. People have been telling me to start a gofundme but I feel weird about that. But I thought maybe if I was contributing something? SOO I started making shitposting shirts. Can you share this and maybe think about grabbing some?

Watched the new Leverage eps, and as always they feel like coming home. I love when they lean into the ridiculousness of what they do.

Also, one bit that made me go, wow, that was very pointed and definitely feels like @johnrogers.bsky.social wrote it, and sure enough...

Just love it

I'm down with the general weakening (maybe?) of the whitecloaks.

I understand Loial, even if ensaddening, since that's been set up with stedding refs.

What I find most interesting is maybe Fain=replacement Shaidar Haran? Interested to see where it's going

I have ... concerns about Diera slander. I'm waiting to see where it goes, but that one bothers me.

The rest of ep was great, though! I'm very much enjoying this season, that I know this story, but I don't know *this* story.

Skipping the sharing of water, after discussing Laman, seems like a miss. But overall, they did a really fantastic job of capturing the essence of those two chapters. Really amazing job.

As a book person not sold on season 1, but grew to appreciate S2, I'm now caught up on S3 & very pleased! They threw plot points in Mat's dice cup & shaken them out a bit differently & it's really working well. Still have quibbles (royal fam) & nervous about next ep but it's really good!
