“Non-citizens who are here illegally are criminals” is not strictly true. Immigration law is civil, not criminal. There’s generally no “crime” in being here illegally any more than there’s a “crime” in speeding. Being in the US w/o authorization, absent prior deportation or removal, is not a crime.

Thanksgiving started to sour for me back in 2016. A few years later, I learned the truth. Since then, I’ve slowly tried to learn about decolonizing. My most consistent approach is trying to live a more sustainable and subsistence based lifestyle. I suck at it.
