I looked all over the house for Bowie twice. Checked all his usual hiding spots. Where could he be? Then I spotted a teeny tiny tip of an ear sticking out from this blanket. He’d completely burrowed!

I made another new recipe: Irish soda bread! I kept it very basic, with no raisins or other things mixed in. Very pleased with how it came out, and relieved @zidarose.bsky.social recently picked up a cast iron skillet which was just the size the recipe called for. Recipe from Natasha’s Kitchen.

I’ve made two more first-time recipes: ginger snaps and millionaire’s shortbread.
The snaps don’t actually snap, but they have a good texture and taste delicious.
The shortbreads are good, if sweet and sticky. But the caramel and chocolate ganache both came out well.

Bowie was crying and I didn’t know why. Then he climbed under the comforter at the foot of the bed, crawled over to my lap, settled in and started purring under the covers. He was crying because the weather has changed and he was cold!

I really want to expand and improve my baking skills, so I’m committing myself to learning new recipes. Tonight I made shortbread, one batch with peppermint chips and one with sea salt caramel chips. They’re delicious! Recipe from www.cookinwithmima.com

Taking this advice and reposting the #OurFlagMeansDeath 40-orange cake that @zidarose.bsky.social and I made in 2022. He baked it with blood oranges and I decorated it to look like the show’s famous “cat flag”. It was reposted by the show’s official account and I was very proud.
