Really remarkable how despite all the claims that Trump has changed the GOP, when they govern it’s still tax cuts for the rich, gutting the safety net for others, blowing up the deficit, and launching new wars in the Middle East.

Only difference is Trump dials up the hate, corruption, and theater.

You can’t say criminals don’t deserve due process when due process is the thing that decides if they're criminals. Otherwise you're just kidnapping people you don't like.

The reason I have been unwaveringly NeverTrump from the beginning is it’s always been obvious to me that Trump is a bad person whose personal values are fundamentally at odds with the values of American liberal democracy. Not a flawed person, as we all are. But a bad person.
Reporter: The president of El Salvador said he would be willing to take American citizens in federal prison population.

Trump: I love that

Is it just me or is he not making any sense?

And the monotone delivery?

When the Press Secretary gives props to the Democrats for being able to “effectively orchestrate a misinformation campaign” isn’t that obvious enough to prove she is lying?

Dems are HORRIBLE at that kind of stuff. That the fact that Trump is President (again) is the proof.

everyone should listen to this in its entirety but journalists should listen to it multiple times. this is how you ask questions. you just keep asking simple, easily answerable stuff and the evasiveness becomes that much more glaring
In which the Department of Homeland Security struggles to answer a very simple question: "Is any criticism of the United States government a deportable offense?"

I fear he is right.
I realized today that Trump, Musk, DOGE, Vance, Miller, Vought and their many collaborators have broken so many laws already that they know they have to destroy our government and entire way of life to stay out of jail. This is all or nothing. We should respond accordingly.

This is how war is, especially modern civil conflict. It's not Hollywood. People go to work, go to school, go shopping and hang out. Even combatants, when they're not fighting. Rabbi Zober's point is important because *we'll need to recognize when we're in it.* Otherwise the frog boils.
Really weird watching a coup in real time from my desk at work, putting in my usual hours. In the movies, everyone is at home or on the streets protesting. Makes it feel surreal.

*Each* of us need to find a way to hold the line.
It’s been less than a week, and whew! Everything’s unraveling at breakneck speed—can’t help but wonder what chaos next week will bring.

Looks like the folks at #TheWeekend are feeling it too.

Sean Duffy passed his committee vote unanimously yesterday, in part because he promised not to let politics (illegally) get in the way of funding transportation projects congress approved. But he made that promise before his boss issued an executive order demanding that he do just that.
