Health care IS a human right. A healthy society requires accessible health care.
Health care is a human right. A thriving society depends on everyone having access to affordable, equitable care. No one should face the risk of losing coverage due to life circumstances. Health and economic security are deeply connected – when people can get the care they need, families are stronger, businesses are more productive, and communities are more resilient. Similar to education and public safety, health care is an essential good – for our community and ourselves.

One patient's story: "The night before I was supposed to see my primary care doctor, their office called to let me know they were no longer in network with my insurance, so my visit would cost me almost $100. It turns out, they have been out of network for more than six months and never told me. I’d seen my doctor three times since then and insurance covered nothing. The doctor’s office said they’d be sending me a large bill. Not only can I not afford this, I now have to find a new doctor before my prescriptions run out. I hope I can find someone who doesn’t have a few months wait for new patient appointments."
