I think the argument that this is good for working people has the same outcome for crypto, less rules means the rich can exploit more people.

That includes many trans people, with one-third of respondents to the 2022 U.S. Trans Survey reporting that they lived in poverty. Institutional Investor also reported earlier this month that "capital calls" - requests made by investment funds for more money from their investors - have exceeded distributions by $1.5 trillion since 2018, with one asset management executive calling that a gap "a breakdown in the private equity machine." "I would argue that a lot of investors shouldn't go anywhere near this," financial planner Catherine Valega told CNBC. "Probably 95% of the country doesn't even have an emergency savings fund, and now you're going to tell them, if they're smart enough, I can invest in private securities. That does not make sense to me."

I was at Wawa stage picket with DC33 yesterday, a HUGE scab labor operation is going on to try and put this show on. they're spending wayyyy more money on this than giving the union their raises!

Also they're out picketing today, go join the line and drop off cold stuff!

Solidarity with our city workers! Our sanitation workers start at $45k and our mayor gave herself a 9% raise and created ~15 positions at > $150k salary.

They deserve a living wage and we deserve a city without cronyism

Letterboxed review of They/Them 2022 Wow that movie was just full of missed opportunities, Kevin Bacon is fully hammed up the whole time, the scenes individually are well written with good tension but it feels like they really just tried to cram so much in 90 minutes, it could have actually worked as a limited series. I just yelled at the TV for the whole ending

There's people posting that some text has changed in this story and that it changes McBride's intent, I really don't think it does.

The Delaware congresswoman has cautioned moderate Democrats that the tenor and tone of their comments - particularly on questioning trans athletes in sports, which is where most of the debate has focused - might inflame and splinter factions instead of being productive. "We have to create more space in our tent. If. for instance, we want to have a majoritarian coalition - not just electorally, but specifically on issues around trans rights - that, by necessity, is going to have to include people who have a range of thoughts," McBride told NOTUS. "A binary choice between being all-on or all-off is not constructive for anyone," McBride continued. "It impedes the very needed path toward winning electorally, winning hearts and minds and, most importantly, winning progress." Some members - like Reps. Seth Moulton and Tom Suozzi, both of whom have recently met with McBride - received immediate intraparty backlash for publicly saying they oppose having trans athletes participate in women's and girls' sports. McBride thinks that type of response is unproductive. "I think it is an incredibly problematic instinct that many have to excommunicate people who aren't in lockstep with you on every policy, or even aren't in lockstep with you on the messaging," she said. House Democrats' most common messaging strategy on trans issues, advised by McBride after the election, has been to treat Republicans' anti-trans attacks as a distraction and to pivot to other issues.

This is probably my fourth or fifth rewatch and it still makes me cry. It's a powerful statement of choosing to live in the moment with the people you love, when nothing makes sense and everything is terrible. Everything has only gotten worse and it still makes me appreciate my loves even more

It almost feels unfair to the cast, it could have been a nice little TV show
The end of this movie really sealed the deal that it was a pilot for a TV show they didn't like but was expensive enough to cut into a "movie". The tone never came together but the good bones of an ok TV show with 7x26 episode seasons. I lost my absolute shit at the guy in a mech suit having "mecha dysmorphia" (read like gendah dysphoria) followed by the nanokin vulcan meat-Gundam reveal! The camera work felt like a heist movie but without a real heist, and the score direction must have been "star trek but like minor key". Sorry Michelle!

SEPTA and other Pennsylvania transit agencies welcomed the temporary boost as buying time for the legislature to reach a deal on a more lasting transportation funding increase.
