TLDR: It seems like Vio Shimakusa (the scenario writer for STEINS GATE of all things?) was shopping about an idea for this show of a woman who travels through time...and somehow he convinced aniplex executives to put the story into Magia Record...

Given there is a girl from every color of the wheel from Madoka I would vouch to add one there: Sayaka-Blue, Madoka Pink, Homura Black, Mabuyu Green, Kyoko Red, etc
