In most countries with a Labor party or similar party, U.S. Democrats would be their opponents as the moderate right. US remains brainwashed since "reds under the bed."

Weather is weather. It's not a city's fault. It is what it is. Hasn't held Melbourne back at all.

She's not the only Liberal who uses that tone. Don't they get how off-putting it is? I'm thinking Bridget McKenzie and Jane Hulme et al.

I get where you're coming from but it is up to the school to treat it as a tool for student benefit. The fact results get published contributes to making high stakes.

By that, I mean it is more accurate than classroom assessment. It can identify that a year 8 student is working at a year 4 level and that is useful knowledge.

We do, yes. But I've always found NAPLAN data useful as part of triangulation with other assessments.
March 20, 2025 at 10:24 PM
Yes, the results aren't prompt but they are still useful.

You're right. I had a MYLNS role (in Victoria) and that gave me the time.
March 20, 2025 at 7:16 PM
I agree, the results shouldn't be published but the data is useful at student level. For teachers to assess with same accuracy would be a big ask. Teachers and schools need to explain the actual purpose of the tests. NAPLAN results help teachers target students who need support.
