sick of making video games. experimenting with, like, actual static rendered images lately, it's so liberating

I’m looking at Skyward Sword level art on noclip. They did such great work with geometry skirts to mask transitions and enhance edges. Left image is the base opaque geo, middle is the floating edge geo with alpha blend controlled by vertex colors, and right is the whole thing combined. So nice!
