The Ford government is just malevolently stupid. Making up a rule that only medical students who went to high school in Ontario get priority placements is just so relentlessly dumb and drives away the future doctors we need.

Now just imagine these people building a tunnel under Canada’s busiest highway.

I usually speed when I’m driving but that’s because all the speed limit signs around here are just normal-sized signs and I don’t think they’re serious signs but once Doug Ford spends millions putting up bigger speed limit signs I will definitely not be speeding anymore because then it’s serious.

The provinces should cost-share this with the federal government. In no way should the federal government pay for the whole thing, because rest assured, provinces would not put the savings to improving care. They would instead turn those savings into tax cuts, because that's what they always do.

Trudeau spent eight years trying to get provinces on board. He set up the Canadian Drug Agency to negotiate a formulary. Provinces except PEI *refused* to get on board.
The NDP's ass-backward approach only created a bigger mess.

Star Editorial Board: Doug Ford’s latest scandal is almost too brazen to be believed
It suggests Ford has established a system where public money is being handed out not based on need or merit but on who you know or who you pay

Every single time.
And yet, there is an entire school of political thought in this country that insists minority parliaments are best.
Minority parliaments, in theory: Parties forced to work together, government held to account, real compromise, substantive accomplishment.

Minority parliaments, in reality: IS THERE GOING TO BE AN ELECTION THIS WEEK? WHAT ABOUT NEXT WEEK?

I’m recommending this again. Put favourite son Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip on the Kingston skyline.

Doug Ford has 72 staffers working for him. The largest staff roster of any Ontario Premier ever. His cabinet is also the largest and most expensive in Ontario history.

But this week his Minister of Red Tape Reduction couldn't tell a committee how much all this was costing us.

I have questions.

This is why the Dems are caving on the shutdown.
"Lots of people in the greatest need for it will lose healthcare and food benefits" motivates them less than "privileged people are suffering minor inconveniences around holiday air travel."

Their business model never seemed sustainable and i've been frustrated for years that they have usurped all other collectibles and toys as the only merchandise that gets made for some media. They were a neat niche item at the start but have overwhelmed their market.

While it is true that the OLP and ONDP votes combined might be enough to beat the PCs in many ridings, 50-60% of eligible voters did not cast any ballot in the last two elections.
It would be better for everyone if both parties focused on motivating non-voters instead of fighting each other.
If you’re thinking about all the scandals and deadly interference/overreach decisions by Ontario Premier Doug Ford, and thinking “why do people keep voting for him,” remember most people don’t. Ford wins because of “first past the post” and the fact that the NDP & Liberals in Ontario split the vote.
“The Ford Govt in Ontario has passed a controversial omnibus bill banning municipalities from installing speed cameras.

Ford says it will make the province more efficient & reduce red tape.

It won’t do either, and he knows it.

It might get him “speeder votes” though.

This will kill more people.

The FBI is sending memos out to local law enforcement agencies warning them that MEN NATIONWIDE are posing as ICE and wearing masks to commit

- robberies
- kidnappings
