Oh this just made me so happy. One of 2026’s goals is Oxonmoot in person.
30 reasons to come to Oxonmoot 2025

Reason no. 27: Enyalië. This moving ceremony - meaning "remembrance" in Quenya - is the final event of Oxonmoot. At #Tolkien's grave, we share a reading from Tolkien's works and a rendition of Namárië.

Mom guilt and the usual weekend migraine are duking it out for dominance today. Taking it as a sign to finally share something I wrote earlier this month.

I was given an earthworm to befriend today and then it was IMMEDIATELY taken from me to be used as fish bait, but it feels good to finally be Project Wild certified, I guess.

Also pour one out for Melvin, please. He was a good boy.

Favorite insults from my students (ages 3-6):

-“Kyla, do you need my dad to buy you more clothes? You wear that dress all the time.”
-“Kyla, you’re the boringest teacher.”
-“You’re so squishy.”
-“I wish I could scoop out your brain [to learn your secrets].”
-“You’re going to die one day, you know.”

Adding to the bucket list. What a beautiful tribute.
NEW: Tolkien statues in East Yorkshire

Created with the support of local #Tolkien fans, the statues were unveiled this summer. They highlight J.R.R. Tolkien's links to the area, most notably the inspiration for part of the tale of Beren and Lúthien. #BookSky
