It'a all about pronounciation - the letter "S" is "ess" (/ˈɛs/ IPA) and the plural is "ess-iz" (/ˈɛsɪz/ IPA). It's the suffix -es pronounced as "-iz" (/ɪz/ IPA) making the plural of PDS (/ˈpiːˈdiːˈɛs/) PDSes (/ˈpiːˈdiːˈɛsɪz/ IPA).

I have beta access and so far it's pretty good. There are a lot of custom settings and the ui is getting better. It needs an option to post to Flashes only and a stories feature. Carousels are limited to 4 images and forces a square aspect ratio.

Same way any identity is verified. Verification is up to whoever wants to do it. It's up to you to decide if you trust them. As mentioned above Bluesky has no intention of adding verification. Labelers are built and maintained by third parties. If it were my labeler I would add peer verification.

It would be nice to have a labeler for verified journalists like there is for Mastodon.

Bluesky doesn't currently, or plan, to offer a verification process. The best you can do is use your domain as your handle bsky.social/about/blog/4...
