I am not normally a multiplayer guy, but ARC Raiders has thoroughly ensnared me the past few days. Absolutely digging the Skynet post-apocalypse mixed with Star Wars original trilogy aesthetics, all brought together in a thoughtfully designed extraction shooter package.

The new Steam hardware is cool (except for that hideous controller, sorry guys), though I don't really have a use case for any of it at the moment. Already recently converted my old rig into a hybrid console using Playnite, and I'm still not comfortable with gaming on Linux yet.

You could swap Leto for Keanu Reeves and Ares still wouldn't be saved. It's just unfortunately a mediocre exposition-heavy plot; driven by too many MacGuffins and not much else. Support the franchise instead by buying the blu-ray of Tron Legacy if you haven't already. It still holds up.

Maybe a lukewarm take now but tbh I always thought MS was a bad influence on the industry. Xbox pretty much pioneered overpriced dlc practices and charging for basic online play while coasting on Halo as its sole killer app. I never got the sense that they were in it for the love of games.

I'm still enamored by MiSide. It was just such a cool experience taking Half-Life's approach of storytelling while always keeping the player in control, and mixing it with a batsh*t anime plot, amazing atmosphere, and puzzle solving reminiscent of old school point and click adventures.

My top 10 doesn't get shaken up too often, but the last upset was probably A Hat in Time usurping Mario 64 as my favorite 3D platformer. Funnily enough I had heard of this game for a while but ignored the hype until sometime around 2020-2021 when I finally played it.

I tried CrossWorlds and while it's definitely fun, it's not $70 + an additional $20 for the DLC fun. And also let's be real folks, this is nowhere near as mechanically satisfying as Mario Kart; it controls quite a bit stiffer by comparison, but I do appreciate the competition nonetheless.

I used to think I was the biggest Miku simp in the room because I could finally ace Secret Police on normal difficulty, only for Saba to quickly remind me that I am but a mere mortal attempting pathetically to grasp at powers far beyond my understanding. Jesus Christ woman.

I wonder if the future of all consoles will just be Switch clones in the long run. After all, as visual fidelity plateaus more and more, people will just value portability and convenience over bleeding edge graphics and 5% prettier lighting, resulting in the end of home consoles entirely.

I made the mistake of pouring a whole bowl of Fruity Pebbles before realizing I was out of milk. Stubbornly I decided I would just eat it anyway because I did not want to pour it back in the box. Big mistake again. I now can't even look at the boxes of Fruity Pebbles at the grocery store.

Revisiting Lego Racers, I'm impressed with how thoughtfully designed it is. Every powerup feels useful and serves a strategic purpose, it's a genuine struggle to reach first place without feeling cheap, and it controls nice. (It's secretly the best kart racer on N64 don't @ me)

Revisiting Lego Racers, I'm impressed with how thoughtfully designed it is. Every powerup feels useful and serves a strategic purpose, it's a genuine struggle to reach first place without feeling cheap, and it controls nice. (It's secretly the best kart racer on N64 don't @ me)

The worst part about Super Metroid is that the game is so good you eventually learn how to beat it in 2.5 hours without even trying, and then you're left wondering "but where's the rest of the game?"

I don't need an origin story but I do need proper setup for the plot points that we DO have and I don't feel like we got that with the new Superman. It's a bit messy and rushed, but at the end of the day still a fun film. Mr. Terrific was indeed terrific. I loved this version of Lois Lane.
