I spent the morning listening to the Sunday Morning Polka Show and making homemade cultured butter, and I’ve turned into my grandmother.
On a light brown kitchen counter, on the left an 8oz deli container, on the right the top of a blue ceramic butter keeper, both full of homemade cultured butter. Two halves of a toasted sourdough baguette spread with butter and sprinkled with smoked sea salt, on a white ceramic small plate on a light brown countertop. In the rear, a blue ceramic butter keeper.

The first thing I took my husband to Des Moines I made a point to show him this in person.
The “Mother Iowa” statue at the Iowa Soldier’s and Sailors Memorial at the state capitol in Des Moines, Iowa. A dark metal statue of a young woman, wearing a thick skirt but naked above the waist, her shoulders held back as her hands cup her breasts. It sits upon a plinth of light colored stone, with three circles running horizontally below the statue, engraved in turn within the circles is a cross within a cross, a five pointed star within the same, and a diamond within a diamond. It sits it front of a broader wall of the same stone. Above the statue engraved into the stone is IOWA, HER AFFECTIONS, LIKE THE RIVERS OF HER BORDERS, FLOW TO AN INSEPARABLE UNION.

It seems as if half the law enforcement in the area is on Ellsworth just south of the Ypsilanti/Pittsfield Meijer (the pictures are from the Meijer parking lot looking south at Ellsworth, with several cop cars with lights flashing parked. The exit from the lot onto Ellsworth is blocked)

I am now officially "not going to a concert unless I have a designated place to sit" years old.
