Jury duty is terrible.
I got the worst case imaginable (think something very close to current events) and I wanted no part of any of the “evidence”. Just the thought of that makes me sick to my stomach.
So now, I find any excuse to get out of it.

Jury duty should be paid to the employee by the employer as the fact of doing business in this country.
ANY employer, for ANY employee. And replace actual take-home, so service industry people who rely on tips get the full compensation.
It would be easy adding the code into payroll like PTO is.

If juries are such a crucial part of a fair legal system, we should stop making them a huge financial burden on everyone who participates. I can't live on $9/hour, and if I served for more than 4 days I would be asked to. That's untenable, and I've never seen anyone look to change that.
