I find myself at a lot of music events 🎶
Algorithmic Radicalisation and Online Echo Chambers

Social media algorithms push extreme content because it generates high engagement.

Once a user engages with one video or post, they are funneled deeper into radical content, reinforcing beliefs through repetition.

Figures like Andrew Tate, Jordan Peterson, and others provide seemingly logical explanations for why men feel unsuccessful, often blaming feminism or women.

Media Influence and the Rise of the "Alpha Male" Culture

Social media promotes unrealistic ideals of success and masculinity, leading some men to feel inadequate.

Gradual Escalation into Extremism

Many young men start with mild "self-improvement" or dating advice, then slowly move toward misogynistic content.

Radical figures frame feminism as a conspiracy, making members believe they are "awakening" to a hidden truth.

I often find the most ableist people are the older generation towards young people.

Heaven forbid a young woman who can walk to her car be just as disabled as an older woman who can do the same.

It's almost like disabilities come in all forms, visible and invisible. And is no one's business...

My road can get busy, many times I've been forced to park up to two or three streets away when there's disabled spaces available that I am entitled to use that they guard and block access to.

They seem to think they are entitled to say who is/isn't disabled and who can use "their" spaces.

Often she'll park across both spaces or have the other cars in her household park across them so one else can use them. Which has resulted in them getting tickets. But they would rather risk a ticket than let anyone else use them.

I feel very safe and comfortable around most of the people I've worked with.

For that I am grateful because it's been such a great year.

The larger bands that have been around a while definitely have a lot for newer and younger bands to learn from them in terms of etiquette. I'm hopeful for them.

It's so heavily male dominated that it's become this lad culture.

With that said, I am so grateful for all of the amazing men who call out this bad behaviour and hold them accountable and the women who don't reward their poor behaviour.

At 31, almost 32 (birthday in a few weeks woo) I'm a woman who knows how to handle myself and control a situation. Plus I've been here so long now I know a lot of people at these things who would help if needed.

Many young women don't have that. Which is why we need MORE women in this industry.

The live music industry is a mostly positive crowd to be part of.

Sure there's a few rotten eggs but so does every industry.

But as a whole it goes with saying that it is very uninviting to women. I experienced sexual harassment at EVERY event I attend this year.

Sorry to hear you are in similar situations but glad you're making your home your sanctuary too 😊
